What is a Scrimmage? (As defined in 2011 meeting)

 

• Opportunity for R/N wrestlers to increase mat time while reducing “event” time.

 

• Scrimmages would toggle between North and South locations; could have both if Numbers justify/require.

 

• Four-man round robins where possible

 

• Madison style bracketing

 

• No awards 

 

• Running 5-6 minute clock

 

• Coaches “officiate” and score matches

 

• Run ~3 matches per mat surface (2-3 mats per scrimmage)

 

• Wrestlers can wear athletic shorts and t-shirt/ Headgear required

 

• Goal is to get every wrestler 3 matches in ~2 hours.

 

• Single fixed cost at start of season

 

• Fundraiser for host clubs
